Collective Worship

At Upper Arley Primary School Collective Worship opportunities aim to promote the spiritual, moral and cultural development of all of our pupils and allows us to encounter faith together. We consider spiritual and moral themes, we encourage participation and engagement aiming to develop community spirit, promote our Christian school values and reinforce the wonderful positive attitude we share at Upper Arley.

Collective worship at Upper Arley gives pupils, school colleagues and members of our local community the opportunity to:

  • Engage in an act of community
  • Express praise and thanksgiving to God
  • Be still and reflect
  • Explore the big questions of life and respond to national events
  • Foster respect and deepen spiritual awareness
  • Reflect on the character of God and on the teachings of Christ
  • Affirm Christian values and attitudes
  • Share each other’s joys and challenges
  • Celebrate special times in the Christian calendar

We are proud to provide participation in collective worship opportunities on a daily basis through whole school and class assemblies, small group work, class discussion, hymn practice, bible club, reading of psalms and religious passages and refection on bible stories.
